# Power Markets

> Wholesale US power prices and hourly grid-operations context.

The Power Markets pages on [data.ornn.com/analytics/power](https://data.ornn.com/analytics/power) plot daily wholesale prices across the seven tracked US hubs: six ICE exchange-traded peak products, plus ERCOT's day-ahead clearing price against grid load. History starts 2017-01-03. Premium and Full see the price charts; the hourly Load vs Forecast and Fuel Mix views require Full.

  Power Markets has a REST API. Premium and Full keys can read daily prices at `GET /api/power/markets`. Full keys can also read hourly grid operations at `GET /api/power/load` and `GET /api/power/fuel-mix`; a Premium key receives `403` on those two routes. CSV/XLSX export from the charts is Full-only.

The GPU [forward curve](/docs/access-tiers) is a separate product. Published GPU forward marks are served at `GET /api/forward` for paying keys and as the MCP tool `get_forward_curve`. A Premium key receives five curves; B300, GB200, and GB300 require Full. They are not a power product. Do not look for power forwards on that route.

## What the charts show

| Field | Meaning |

| `d` | Trade or clearing date. |
| `p` | Peak-block price in USD per MWh, the headline series. |
| `o` | Off-peak price, ERCOT only. |
| `t` | Traded volume in GWh, exchange-traded hubs only. |
| `l` | System load delivered, clearing hubs only. |
| `g` | Trade count behind the print. |

Tracked hubs: WECC Northwest (Mid C Peak), PJM, CAISO, ISO-NE, WECC Southwest (Palo Verde Peak), MISO, ERCOT (HB\_NORTH). See the [data dictionary](/docs/data-dictionary) §11 for the field list and access columns.

The series is maintained by scheduled ingestion into the live data store. ICE-published hub workbooks can lag the trade date by weeks, while EIA operations feeds are hourly. Each response includes source and freshness metadata; the page stamps the latest source observation, not "today".

MISO trades thinly on ICE. Interpret its price together with traded volume.
